This gorgeous vintage piece is in very good condition.
This vintage Export Chinese necklace comprises natural turquoise gemstones in nugget form. The pieces are a bright duck egg blue with some darker stones and many showing dark matrix.
The necklace is from Danish Silversmith Erik Poul Fenster c1950 and was imported to Denmark from China.
The original Export Chinese clasp is a pretty filigree piece and marked to the back Silver. The tongue is marked with the Danish silver smiths mark. The clasp was originally gilded but this has worn to expose the silver beneath to the high spots of the filigree.
The turquoise beads are individually knotted and the strand is strong.
The strand has slightly graduated stones. The larger central beads are around 14mm x 9mm and the smaller beads near the clasp are around 9mm x 7mm. The strand is 480mm long.
