This necklace is made from genuine Baltic amber which has been formed into beads. The beads are threaded on a thick double strand and are secured with a disguised knot. There is no clasp.
The amber has been reconstituted. This means that the original pieces of amber were heated and most of the dirt impurities removed before being allowed to cool and shape into beads. As the amber cooled it formed crystalline discs within which can be seen in the photos as well as small chunks of opaque and darker amber.
The largest beads are 22mm long and the smallest beads are 15mm.
The strand is 700mm long and weighs around 110gms.
