This lovely hinged bangle is Australian and was manufactured by Melbourne Company Scandia Jewellery (1963-). All their jewellery was and still is made by hand with hand tooling techniques used in the early 1900's. From the style of this piece we would date it to the 1960's.
This piece shows gorgeous convex design with fine hand tooled leaves in sterling silver. The top and bottom edges have a zigzag pattern to both front and back of the bangle.
The bangle is hollow and has a traditional push in box clasp with the added security of a safety chain. The hinge is firm and the clasp closes securely.
There are no indents to the bangle and the surface is free from any large scratches or scuffs. There are very fine scratches from use.
The bangle is 30mm wide and measures 65mm x 55mm. It measures 180mm around internally. It weighs 48.8gms.
