This beautiful piece is in very good condition.

This jam spoon was made by Western Australian Silver workshop of James Linton. James W.R. Linton was highly regarded as a jeweller and silversmith with his work mainly in the Arts and Cratfs style. His son James A B Linton (known as Jamie) was trained by his father and began working as a silversmith from around 1920. He created his own designs featuring Australian based motifs including wildflowers and animals. He became one of Australia's best known metal workers by the end of WW2. This spoon is one of his designs and according to the Power house museum would date 1930-1940.

This particular spoon features a leaf and scroll motif and is well marked to the back with the gumnut marks, StSilver and JAL. It features a beaten finish to the bowl with split rat tail detail to the back. Tooling marks can be seen along the handle.

There are fine scratches from use and or storage.

The spoon is 125mm long and measures 35mm across the bowl. It weighs 25.9gms.
