This beautiful Australian cutlery set is in very good condition and was made by Fairfax & Roberts who based in Sydney from the 1870's. The company still exists today and are manufacturers of fine jewellery. Their cutlery division long closed down.
This set would date to around the 1950's. It is in the classic pattern called Du Barry
The set is for 6 people and consists of 6 dinner knives, dinner forks, 6 entree forks, 6 dessert spoons, 6 small teaspoons and two large serving or table spoons. The knives are stamped Bainco Made in Sheffield England. Some of the knives have very slim gaps between the handles and the stainless steel blades. The pieces feel well weighted in the hand.
There are a few very fine scratches and scuff marks from use and or storage. As mentioned the plating is reflective and shiny. There is no silver plate loss.
This is a high quality, beautiful setting in lovely condition.
