This piece of vintage Australian jewellery is in lovely condition.
The brooch is marked to the back 9ct and has E R with a symbol between. e have been able to identify the maker. We do know the provenance of this piece. It belonged to my mother who purchased it new in the early 1980's to replace one that was stolen.
The opal is solid and as can be seen there is a small amount of rock to the back. The opal is highly polished to the front and has no scratches, scuffs or other marks. I don't recall my mother ever wearing it.
The gold setting is finely tooled and the brooch secures with a roll over locking clasp.
The brooch is 30mm x 22mm. The opal is 15mm x 9mm.
