This beautiful and elegant set was designed for Grosvenor Australia and produced in the 1960's and the design is called Gretel. As with all the earlier Grosvenor settings the name of the pattern is to the back.
It was a setting that came with several knife options. This particular setting has the original pearlite handles. These were made to imitate mother of pearl. These don't often survive the use of hot water or dishwashers but this setting has been rarely used as can be seen all the pieces, knives included, are in lovely condition.
The set has 6 place settings with 6 pearlite handled dinner knives, 6 pearlite handled entree knives, 6 dinner forks, 6 entree forks, 6 dessert spoons, 6 soup spoons and 6 teaspoons. There are also 2 large table spoons making a total of 44 pieces.
There is no silver plate loss, no spotting or corrosion and no deep scratches. There are extremely fine scratches from cleaning and or use only.
The set is not boxed and will come wrapped in acid free tissue paper and packed securely in a sturdy box.
