This beautiful Danish design Riberhus cutlery or flatware set is in very good condition. The design is elegant and features a single five petal bloom to the end of the handles and simple foliar scrolls along the side edges with echoes of the design to the backs or necks of each piece.
First produced by famous Carl M Cohr Silver it was designed by H.P.Jacobsen in the early 1930's but due to the start of WW2, the drawings were stored until the 1950's when the pattern was finally released. It was an immediate success and became very popular. It is a design that is still popular today and was reintroduced by Gense some time after the closure of Cohr in 1987. Each of these piece is marked for Cohr and the set would date to the 1950's.
The set is for 8 people and consists of 8 rare hollow handled dinner knives, 8 even rarer hollow handled entree knives, 8 dinner forks, 8 entree forks, 8 large Continental soup spoons or table spoons, 8 dessert spoons, 8 teaspoons, 5 small meat forks, a large cake knife, a gravy or sauce ladle, a cake server, and a large serving spoon.
