This beautiful Danish cutlery or flatware set is in lovely condition. The design is elegant and features a leaf and scroll design to the flared finials with a double line edging up to the serving sections.
The design is called Hellas and was produced by the Copenhagen Spoon Factory, Amager. (The city of Copenhagen straddles the main land and the island of Amager.)
The set is for 6 people and consists of 6 rare hollow handled dinner knives with finely serrated blades, 6 even rarer hollow handled entree knives, 6 dinner forks, 6 entree forks, 6 large Continental soup spoons or table spoons, 6 dessert spoons, 6 teaspoons, 6 cake forks, a large meat fork, a large cake knife, a gravy or sauce ladle, a bottle opener, 2 cake servers, and various sized serving spoons. There are 59 pieces.
All the pieces are marked to the backs with the Copenhagen Spoon Factory mark of Absalon the bishop and have the Danish silver plate quality torch mark used since 1932. The knives are marked Lundtofte Denmark, a leading manufacturer of stainless steel.
There is no silver plate loss and no bubbling or corrosion to the plating. There are a few very fine scratches from use. The plating is reflective and shiny. The blades are well seated and show no movement.
This is a high quality and beautiful setting in lovely condition.
