This beautiful silver piece is in very good condition.
The brooch or pin is called a Solje (sun) Pin and is a traditional Norwegian piece worn at a wedding and also called a Bunad pin. The piece is simply marked AP in a circle. There is no silver mark we can find.
The brooch features 6 silver filigree drops with 6 circular discs or 'spoons' that dangle from a silver filigree framework.
There is some tarnish to the spoons and although we have gently cleaned them some still remains as can be seen.
There are irregularities with the tiny filigree curls from where the drops are suspended. Some are larger than others and some are more tightly curled.
There is a safety roll over type clasp and a sprung hinge.
The brooch measures 45mm across and each drop is 35mm long. The entire brooch measures 70mm in length.
