This beautiful silver piece is in very good condition.
The brooch or pin is called a Solje (sun) Pin and is a traditional Norwegian piece worn at a wedding and also called a Bunad pin.
The piece is marked HJ 830S. The makers mark is for Haakon Jakobsen.
The brooch features 6 ornate silver drops each with 3 discs or spoons that dangle from the fine drops.
There is some tarnish to t he spoons and although we have gently cleaned the brooch some tarnish still remains.
The brooch it self is in the form of a viking shield.
There is a safety roll over type claps and a sprung hinge.
The brooch measures around 33mm across and each drop is 25mm. The entire brooch is around 50mm in length.
