This elegant piece was designed by Henning Seidelin for Frigast Denmark. Henning Seidelin was a prominent famous Danish designer who studied at the Royal Danish Academy from 1917-1936. He began his career as a sculptor but soon turned to industrial design. His work encompassed many mediums and products range from silverware, cutlery, home-wares, lighting, furniture and ceramics. As with many Danish designers their skill ranges over many fields in their life time. Among others Henning designed for Georg Jensen, Hans Hansen, Frigast/Gense, Le Klint and Royal Copenhagen. This design was also produced by Gense after the company took over Frigast. This is a genuine vintage 1950's Frigast setting.
The design is called Kongleys and was first designed in the early 1950's. It has a sleek pattern with a shaped handle filled with a fine double criss-cross decoration.
The bottle opener is the larger of the two sizes produced and is in excellent condition. it looks in new condition.
There is no silver plate loss, corrosion or bubbling, it looks new.
The bottle opener is 140mm long.
