The Peachtree iNova is a versatile integrated amplifier released in 2012 and retailed at that time for around AU$3,000. It has a superior quality in-built Digital-to-Analogue Converter, delivers a solid 80 watts into 6 ohms output, and has a tube section in its pre-amplifier that can be turned or off. On top is an iPod dock designed for direct digital transfer, stepping around the iPod's own in-built DAC to boost sound quality. On the back is an array of features including coaxial, USB and optical input options, a pre-out to supply input to an external power amplifier or sub-woofer if desired, and a switch to activate or de-activate oversampling performed by the DAC, for either the direct translation native files up 24/192, or the up-sampling of lower resolution files to 24/192.
The Peachtree iNova received many review accolades and remains a very solid performer today. The quality of its DAC was consistently praised and often favourably compared to standalone DACs that themselves cost more than this Integrated Amplifier combination. "Worth the price of the DAC alone" was often the catch-cry.
Its attractive cherry-wood case creates a retro-look, and the glow of the preamp tube in the front fascia window adds to its allure. Cosmetically, this unit is very good with a light scuff mark to the aluminium face as shown. A remote is provided which is fully functioning but also has cosmetic flaws.
