This extension table is a stylish piece with elegant style and clever design.
The legs are solid teak and the mechanisms are a pine. The table top is teak veneer with a thick solid teak edge. The table comfortably sits 6 with the extension leaves pulling out to either end making dining for up to 10 people.
The piece is not branded and has no maker's name but has been imported to Australia from Denmark.
The piece is in really good condition. The clean lines of the design are very appealing with round tapered legs and gentle curves to the tops of the legs and the table top sides. It is an elegant piece.
There are a few small scratches to the extension leaves, some of which are shown. There are a few faint scratches to the top. These are minimal and don't detract from the beauty of the surface. The two extension leaves are slightly darker and the grain of the wood is more prominent as they have been used far less than the middle section of the table. The smaller central section has some fading and a slightly darker area to the middle that must have had a mat or bowl placed there for long periods of display, meaning it has not faded as much as the surrounding timber.
The two extensions are located in a shallow storage shelf below the table at one end. The extensions are draw mechanisms with little timber locators that swivel and slot into the extension leaves to keep them in place. It is a beautiful design, simple and easy to use.
The un-extended table is 150cm long x 91cm wide x 72cm tall. The extended the table is 248cm long.
