This couch or sofa is in very good condition.
This is a classic piece designed by Erik Ole Jorgensen in 1978. He designed this piece for FDB Mobler and it was also retailed by Nordisk Andels Eksport, a company that promoted Danish design. Several of his designs appear in the Nordisk Andels Eksport catalogue as well as FBD Mobler at the same time. We know that the Nordisk Andels Ekspot company began in the 1950's and was no longer around by the mid 1980's. This piece is a true mid century make.
The design, J149, is so versatile and timeless it is reproduced today by FBD Mobler.
This is a high quality piece of furniture by a sought after designer.
The original fabric is soft to the touch and has no faults. It is double stitched around the seams and there are zippers so the covers can be washed. We are of the opinion the fabric is wool. The side cushions attach to the frame with leather ties.
The light coloured beech frame has a few bruises most noticeably to one upright to the back and we have shown these in close up. We suggest these happened in handling when recently shipped from Denmark.
The sofa is around 1890mm long x 690mm deep x 780mm high.
