This spoon is in very good condition.

The spoon is British hallmarked for Birmingham 1912. The makers mark is somewhat blurred but looks like it could be Adie and Lovekin Ltd.

Australian animals and birds were often depicted on sterling silver spoons as a souvenir and were often made in England. From what we can work out Australian silversmiths started to make their own designs from around 1920.

The spoon has a twist handle typical of these souvenir spoons with a ball to the finial with a 3 dimensional swan to the top with red enamel or painted eyes. We assume the swan is a depiction of the Western Australian state emblem. The bowl is softly gilded.

The spoon is 119mm long and weighs 8gms.
