This pair of buckles is small and are convex in shape. Each has two fine and sharp prongs which hinge from the centre bar. The hinges are smooth and work really well.
The tips of the prongs kick up a little at the ends, either intentionally of from use. We have left them as they are.
The back of each is hallmarked for Birmingham and the year letter is i for 1908. The makers mark is S.T.S. The prongs are also marked with the lion assay.
These may have been shoe buckles.
The buckles are 30mmm across. The pair weighs 11gms.
We have a good selection of vintage jewellery in store.
