This spoon is in very good condition.
This hand crafted spoon was made by well renowned South Australia Silversmith Joachim Matthias Wendt who started his business in Adelaide in 1852.
It is clearly marked to both the bowl and the back of the Australia motif with J.M.W, a crown, and the head of Queen Victoria.
The spoon has an approximate outline of Australia with the town of Adelaide picked out. Note there is no Northern Territory marked as this only came into being in 1911.
The spoon has very fine scratches from use and or storage.
The spoon is 113mm long and weighs 15.9gms.
