This beautiful antique small brooch or tie pin is marked to the back of the gilded setting with the mark of Marius Hammer Norway, active 1847-1927. It is also marked 830S.
This is a rare piece.
The brooch has a pearly white design which radiates out from a central convex dark blue enamel centre. The design to the border has a touch of blue enamel to the cross motifs.
There is a C type catch and a pin that ends beyond the edge of the brooch helping to date it to sometime before 1890.
There is no damage to any part of this brooch or pin. There are no chips or cracks to the enamel. It looks to us like the clasp has been replaced at some stage.
