This is a beautiful and rare piece of Gouda by Plateelbakkerij Zuid Holland. The Lazurus Gate Mark identifies the maker.
Having contacted the Gouda Museum in Gouda, we have discovered this design although registered to the pottery in pictorial form as shown, is has not been seen in other decorations.
The underside is marked as shown with the date mark which according to the museum above resembles a triangle so dates to 1921. This does not see to concur with websites we have found so the date is a mystery to us. However the style is very 1920's.
There is no damage to the vase although the applied glaze is thin in some places. This is not wear but the amount of glaze applied.
The vase stands an impressive 235mm tall.
