This interesting piece is an antique and made from large paste stones set in brass with a double pronged horn hinged slide or clip.
The stones are multi claw set in closed mirror backings and have quite a sparkle to them. They must have looked amazing when first made and I can only imagine what they looked like under candlelight.
The hinge works well. The horn section is either riveted or screwed in place and there is some rotational movement to this attachment.
There are some marks to the horn as can be seen but there are no cracks. There are some very fine chips to the paste stones but these are only seen under a magnifying glass.
The clip or pin is 98mm long and the past flower is 24mm across.
