This lovely piece is in very good condition and features extremely fine filigree work over a solid silver convex setting. The bangle is set with three large Carved cinnabar lacquer panels each similar but not identical depicting Chrysanthemum blooms. These blooms are a symbol of Autumn.

The bangle is marked to two of the panels CHINA SILVER indicating it is Export Chinese and would date top around 1900. This is a bit confusing as all Chinese Silver was marked in the same manner for the export or domestic markets. Often there were pseudo English or American marks as well.  There is no makers mark to this piece.

The bangle has a push in box clasp with sprung tongue which works as it should. At some time recently a safety chain has been attached which unfortunately has damaged a small area of filigree to one side which is now missing. This is shown in the photos.

The carved panels are quite lovely and the the carvers tool marks can be seen where he has marked the border with the carving tool. There are a few tiny chips here and there seen with a magnifying glass but it is hard to work out if this occurred in the carving itself or happened later.

We have not cleaned this piece apart from with a gentle damp tooth brush to remove grime.

The bangle is 290mm around and each panel is 44mm x 44mm wide.
