This decanter is in lovely condition.
The decanter was made from clear glass that has turned amethyst over time due to exposure to UV light from the sun. The glass has manganese dioxide as part of its manufacture and once exposed to UV this causes a chemical reaction that turns the glass a light amethyst colour. The stopper is the same colour and has a rough protruding section to the bottom where the glass blowers rod was snapped. This is not damage but how the piece was made. The underside of the base has a polished pontil mark.
The decanter does have some internal etching to the glass seen when held up against the light. This is shown in the photos.
The decanter stands 250mm tall to the top of the stopper and measures 100mm x 100mm across the base.
