This lovely vase was produced by Royal Copenhagen in 1918 to commemorate Rundskuedagen often called upside down day. It translates as skewed around day. On this folk holiday roles are switched around bosses become workers and a worker becomes a boss.

Teachers become students and a student becomes the teacher etc. There is a lot of street entertainment, events and stalls with proceeds going to charity.

Royal Copenhagen released its first vase in 1912 and the every year until it seems 1942. Perhaps the end coincided with the start of WW2 but I am only guessing. The vases were always marked for Rundskuedagen and the year as this one is for 1918. They featured a variety of motifs with those from 1921 onward featuring well known land marks. We think the earlier vases were much prettier designs as is the case with this one. It features birds and flowers.

The vase is a factory first and in excellent condition.

The vase is 155mm tall.
