This elegant piece is in very good condition.

The ring is hallmarked to the inside band for 18ct gold.

This ring belonged to my great great grandmother and is being sold on behalf of a family member.

My great great grandmother, Mary Grant was married in 1850 to Robert Cameron in Inverness-shire, Scotland. They had 10 children, the last three were triplets who didn't survive.  As a Golden Wedding present their son Robert gave his mother this thick and heavy gold ring.  He gave his father a pocket watch. Unfortunately the pocket watch was stolen in the 1980's. Mary died in 1905 at the age of 77 so the ring didn't get much wear. It was passed down through the generations and ended up with my grandfather.

The ring is engraved to the inside of the band Mother from Robert 1850 Jan 25 1900. There are many small and fine scratches to the outside of the band. It presents as a pale rose gold.

The ring is thick with a rounded profile and measures 7mm wide and measures as a size T 1/2. It weighs an impressive 10.3gms.
