This beautiful set of 8 glasses is from the Ships series designed by Per Lutken in 1970 for Holmegaard, Denmark. These were the largest in the range and were made as a beer glass.
The glass maker for this series was Harald Hansen. The series was made over a period of years with this particular set being made in the 1970's and 1980's. Most of the glasses are signed to the underside of the base for the late 1970's. Those that are not signed would be a later make from the 1980's when signing became too labour intensive and labels took over. These glasses are all original vintage Danish glass.
The crystal in these glasses is bright and clear and have the distinctive blue tinge Holmegaard are famous for. There is no damage to any of these glasses. There is no clouding from dishwasher use.
The glasses stand 150mm tall and measure 84mm across the rim.
