This stylish Danish setting was made by the Copenhagen Spoon Factory Amager, Denmark. Their mark is ABSA. Each of the silver plated pieces is marked to the back with the Danish quality torch mark used c1950.

The knife blades are stamped ABSA to one side and Hackman to th eother. Hackman are alos a cutlery manufactturer in Norway. This marking indicates the stainless knife blades were made by Hackman.

We have found that the quality of Danish silver plate cutlery is very high. The silver plating is thick and pieces wear extremely well. The patterns are timeless in their appeal and so different from other designs generally found in Australia. We just love them.

The design features a post modernism geometric design which in detail is a diagonal criss cross pattern with faint infill patterning to the central diamonds. It is called Harlekin, or to us Harlequin.

The set comprises an 8 place setting with 34 pieces. There are 8 stainless steel bladed hollow handled knives, 8 dinner forks, 8 table spoons, 8 teaspoons a soup or gravy ladle and a large serving fork.  As with all our Danish sets the knives are the most elusive element. To purchase just the knives in Denmark the prices start from  AUD$50.00 each.

The silver plate to these pieces is in very good condition with some minor usage scratches. There is no wear through to the plating or corrosion spots.  This set will enhance any table setting for years to come.
