This cutlery set is in the pattern called Fuga designed by Tias Eckhoff in 1958 for Lundtofte Denmark.
There is a setting for 8 people with 8 serrated dinner knives, 8 dinner forks, 8 dinner spoons and 8 teaspoons. Each of the spoons and forks are hand engraved to the backs as shown Lundtofte Stainless Denmark. The knives are engraved to the blades. The handles have a satin finish to the stinless steel the blades tines and bowls are glossy.
This set is the earliest release with subsequent releases having machine made marks to the back of the handles.
As can be seen the set comes in its original box and it looks as if the set has been stored since new. There is no evidence of the set ever being used and each piece is pristine.
The box is a little worse for wear having silverfish damage and foxing to the lining. However it has done its job and kept the cutlery safe. The exterior of the box is in very good condition and secures with two brass latches.
This is a rare opportunity to own such a pristine setting all original in its presentation box. A snapshot in time from 1958.
