This beautiful set is in very good condition.
The spoons were made by Western Australian Silver workshop of James Linton. James W.R. Linton was highly regarded as a jeweller and silversmith with his work mainly in the Arts and Cratfs style. His son James A B Linton (known as Jamie) was trained by his father and began working as a silversmith from around 1920. He created his own designs featuring Australian based motifs including wildflowers and animals. He became one of Australia's best known metal workers by the end of WW2. This set features one of his designs and according to the Power house museum would date 1930-1940.
This particular set features a leafy motif and is well marked to the back with the gumnut marks, StSilver and JAL. The spoons feature a beaten finish to the bowl with a rat tail detail to the back.
There are fine scratches from use and or storage. One spoon has a small grey spot to the bowl as shown.
The spoons are 88mm long and measure 22mm across the bowls. The set weighs 40.8gms.
