This is an original set of vintage Danish chairs designed by Kai Christiansen for Schou Andersen Model 31 and date to the 1950's.
These are an icon of Danish design and matching sets are becoming more difficult to obtain.
The dark teak frames have lovely rich grain. The seats and backs are black vinyl which is in very good condition. We are of the opinion the 5 seats have been reupholstered as 5 have a matt vinyl while the 6th has more of a sheen to it which matches all 6 backs. This is something that would not be generally noticed unless the chairs are side by side.
There are a few minor scuff marks here and there but no damage. They have obviously been well looked after and present beautifully.
The chairs are strong, sturdy and ready for many years with the next family in their life.
The chairs are 500mm x 500mm x 750mm.
