This lovely set of 6 tiny cups and saucers were designed for drinking Mocha, a delicious thick blend of coffee and chocolate. They would be suitable for a child's tea set as well.
Each is marked 482/8519. The Royal Copenhagen three wavy line marking dates these to between 1870-1890. This is using the Royal Copenhagen website for dating marks.
Each is hand painted with floral sprays and edged with gold. This is not a transfer print and but actually hand painted. All are scored through the back stamp to indicate a second firing. All we can see is a few faint dark spots within the ceramic that would explain this marking.
There are no chips, cracks or wear to this lovely set.
The cups are only 43mm tall and measure 60mm across. The saucers are 100mm across.
