This beautiful set of 6 is in the design called Fiffa first released by Holmegaard and made at Kastrup Glassworks in 1900. The glasses shown here are a red wine glass although the only references we can find to the design show only Schnapps Glasses. The design was produced over a number of years at both Kastrup and Holmegaard Glassworks until the early 1940's.
The design has a finely cut scallop all the way down the stem and around the base of the bowl creating a really beautiful pattern.
There is no damage to these glasses and the crystal is bright and clear. There is the odd inclusions to the crystal and a few places to the rims where the edge feels gritty. There are all results from the hand blown nature of the glasses. The underside of the bases show a faint T gadget mark where the glass blower's rod was attached. This mark helps to date the glasses to the early 20th Century.
The glasses are 153mm tall and 77mm across the rims. They hold 160mls when filled to the rim. Please note vintage and antique red wine glasses are much smaller than we are used to today.
We have many other stemware designs in store.
