This lovely set is marked with either the Danish twin tower mark used in Denmark from c1890-c1929 or the Danish quality torch mark used from 1928-1932. The set is also marked Gero for the Danish branch of the Dutch Gero factory situated in Copenhagen which opened in 1922. Georg Nilsson was working for Georg Jensen when he was appointed the designer for the Danish Gero Factory. The pieces produced by the Danish Gero factory were for the Danish market and very distinctive in their design. After the crash of 1929 the Danish Gero branch was forced to scale down and eventually transferred its operations in 1933 to Zeist. Nilsson moved as well and continued designing for the company in Holland.
The marks to these pieces indicate they were made in the short window of 1922-1933. They are beautifully made and feature a lovely orchid design. Danish Gero patterns are not an easy thing to find.
The set has many fine scratches from use and a small amount of silver wear to the edges of the back left of the fork tines.
The 12 forks are 195mm long and the 12 spoons 198mm long. There are 24 pieces in total.
