This lidded box or blanket box is in good sound condition. The piece is made from English Oak and has a panelled design with half turned decoration. There are 2 sturdy handles to either end.
There are usage marks to this piece with small scuff marks and indents here and there. There is one larger bruise mark to the top of the lid edge as shown and the turnings have lots of knocks as shown. There are no cracks or chips to the oak and the inside is clean and ready for use. This box has obviously been well used.
The lid is held up by a wooden stay which works really well and stays securely in place. The back of the box is not panelled and so not suitable for display.
The box would be ideal for blankets at the end of the bed or as a toy box.
The box is small and measures 1120mm long x 420mm deep and stands 500mm tall.
