This pendant is made from genuine Baltic amber that has been heated and cleaned. We can tell this because the amber has many crystalline disc like inclusions. These occur when the amber is cooling down and cools at different rates causing these inclusions to occur. Often when amber is picked up of the Baltic Sea shore it is full of sand and dirt. Heating it allows these impurities to be removed and the resultant amber is like what we have here. The amber is shaped and then polished to a high sheen.
The pendant is suspended on a sterling silver twist chain which secures with a parrot clasp.
The pendant is large and measures 53mm long x 34mm. The pendant weighs 16.7gms.
The chain is 530mm long.
