This beautiful lamp is in excellent condition with no damage.
Made in Denmark the base features a blue glaze over a dark tan. The glaze has oxidized in the recesses of the design causing the colour to change to a gorgeous pale blue and mauve creating a contrast to the darker surrounds. The neck features the same mauve / blue colouring in a hares fur appearance.
The piece is marked Soholm Denmark Stentoj (stoneware), the pattern number 1058 and has the stylised Einar Johansen mark as well. Einar Johansen was a Danish ceramist who work for Soholm until 1968. The underside of the lamp base is scored to indicate a seconds. We think this would be because of the small tan spots to the neck where the glaze has crawled. We have photographed this in close up.
The lamp has the original Danish fitting and has been completed with a new fabric over PVC cream pleated shade imported from Denmark. The shade sits on a Danish lamp rack. The fitting takes a standard E27 screw globe. All wiring has been redone and it has been safety tested and tagged.
The pottery base measures 270mm tall and around 21mm across the widest part. The total height including shade is 480mm. The lamp has an inline switch to the tan coloured cord.
The lamp would be ideal for a side table or sideboard.
We have many vintage table lamps in store.
For International sales the cord will be cut short for new wiring to be installed by your electrician.
