Product Description

This stunning pair is in the pattern called Rio marked to the back ABSA the silver plate trade mark used by the Copenhagen spoon factory Amager. The Danish pattern is in an Art Nouveau style with a hibiscus type flower to the finial.

Apart from the maker's marks to the back there is a quality torch mark used on silver plate from around 1928-1932. It has small letters FDG to the centre indicating it was issued by the Danish Goldsmiths Association. (Roughly translates from Faellesreprentationen Danske Guldsmede) This gives us a date, to within a few years, when this set was made.

We have found that the quality of Danish silver plate cutlery is very high. The silver plating is thick and pieces wear extremely well. The patterns are timeless in their appeal and so different from other designs generally found in Australia. We just love them.

There is a large serving spoon and a double lipped sauce or gravy ladle suitable for both left and right handled people. Although used the pieces present well with many fine usage scratches.

The large spoon is 210mm long and the gravy or sauce lade is 170mm.
