Vintage Danish Art Pottery Erling & Karin Heerwagen Girl and Bird Figure

This beautiful piece was designed by Erling and Karin Heerwagen on the island of Langeland, Denmark. Both worked as individuals in the workshop of famous Danish sculptor Bjorn Wiinblad in the 1960's. In 1968 they married and started their own pottery. Here they created a large variety of hand sculptured unique pieces from the very small to large life like figures, all unique and with an element of quirkiness and fun.

The figure is a unique piece and features a girl with a small bird. Glazed in slip and oxides it is colourful and whimsical.

There is no damage to this piece, no chips or cracks. There is some wax and candle smudging to the candle holder section seen as darkness to the ceramic.

The figurine is 235mm tall.
