Product Description

Maija Isola was one of Marimekko's most iconic and prolific designers. Her fresh, bold and abstract prints took the world by storm in the 60's and 70's and many of her designs are still produced by Marimekko today; re-released in different colours and print sizes.

This cushion cover features her design called "Ananas" that was released in 1962. This piece is made from an original 1960's piece of fabric. We were lucky enough to purchase a quantity of vintage 1960's and 70's designer fabric from old dressmaker's stock. The fabric had never been used and was in beautiful condition. The cushion is patterned to both sides and features a concealed zipper. The cover has been sewn by a local upholsterer and all seams are industrial in strength. The piece is photographed stuffed with a 50cm feather cushion insert that is not included in the sale price (but may be purchased for a little extra by Australian customers).

The design is in vibrant green, a deeper grass green and white. The oversized floral flourishes have an exotic, topical feel - the name 'Ananas' translates to 'Pineapple'.

The cushion cover is shaped to fit a 50cm x 50 cm insert.

There are no flaws, stains or marks to the fabric.
