Product Description

This striking piece is made from high grade silver. It is marked to the hook closure 'Silver Mexico' indicating it was made pre 1948 when the Eagle mark was first introduced. The silver assay of Mexican silver at that time was often higher than sterling at 980/1000. This particular piece is a recognizable design called Cocos created by Just Coco Castillo when working for William Spratling. The design was copied by other silver smiths of the time as it was so popular. As this piece has no maker's mark I cannot identify the maker only the design.

The distinctive design has two balls enclosed with a trefoil leaf design and joined to the next with a rope twist ring. The closure is a hook over link.

There are no repairs to the piece and only one insignificant and shallow indent to the underside of one ball. The silver is sound and has no tears or holes. It really is in very good condition.

The bracelet is 200mm long and weighs 36gms.
